Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon

Did you see the moon rising over the horizon last night?  It reminded me of our XP Family Support Group logo!  I’m not going to get all scientific, but last night’s moon was special.  It was the Harvest Moon of 2013.  The Harvest Moon is the first full moon of closest to the autumnal equinox.  The red color is a reflection from the dust particles of the earth.  And here in the Northern Hemisphere, farmers are harvesting their last crops of the summer.  And the Harvest Moon provides the extra light at night for them to get their harvest in…  (Okay, I got a little science geeky…)  For XP Patients, this means that summer is soon ending and they can take off their hoods that much earlier.
